Our very first Weightloss Wednesday is here! I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty jazzed about it, and have been planning out what to write in this post for a few days now. (Yeah, I'm that much of a nerd.)
I hope this experience helps us all out, and I can't wait to get to know all of you that will participate with us!!
As this is the first week, and I only started planning a few days ago, I'm only going to account for time from Saturday until now.
I started on Saturday weighing in at 171.2 pounds. I didn't take a picture, though I plan to do so from this point forward. I have one of those digital scales that shows weight, body fat, and hydration level. I've been avoiding using it much, because it keeps telling me I'm fat. But for the purposes of Weightloss Wednesday, I have dusted it off.
Starting off a diet, or diet plan, is harder than I had thought it would be! Fortunately, I have been able to resist most temptations, though some definitely call a bit louder than others.
My goals with this so far are:
- Lose about 30-odd pounds.
- Tone up my midriff so that I can put on a shirt without looking pregnant
- Get into better shape so that I can jog more than a quarter mile without getting winded
I will get a few more, I'm sure, as time goes on, but we're still starting early.
Before the holiday season, I'd managed to lose five pounds, putting me down around 160. But in the last month and a half, I'd managed to gain over 10 pounds!
I've been looking into different diets, haven't really decided any one particular diet yet, but I have time for that. For now, I've just been doing a lot of walking as I get out. Instead of walking directly to what I wanted in the store, I walked the long way around. I've also been cleaning a lot here at home instead of sitting as much. I managed to get my kitchen scrubbed down, a couple of cupboards rearranged, my fridge cleaned out, and my floors mopped! I don't know how many calories I burnt doing that, but it was sure gratifying!
(Also, check out this awesome fundraiser to help out one of the most awesome bloggy moms we have around! Because if we don't help each other, what else is the point of getting together for blogging!)
Today, my weight is 169.2 lbs with a 33.2% body fat.

Oooo! I'll participate, let me get something written after the kids get to school & I run a couple errands. =-)
ReplyDeletePs...ummmm, you kick ass!
I linked up. I started on Saturday the first day of the year. Reviewing the diet Cinch. I just posted my day 4 progress. My start weight was 169 (like you up 10 pounds over the holidays). Current weight 159.8.
ReplyDeleteWe are so on the same page my goal weight loss is about 30-35 from my current weight.
I started running again as well.
I don't know how I forgot about this this morning but I'm linked up now. I look forward to sharing this journey with some new bloggy friends! Thanks for hosting! :)
ReplyDeleteI loved reading this. You are going to be my inspiration. I don't have a blog but I will be here to read your success and continue pushing myself to a healthy goal. I have a major Coke-a-Cola addiction to kick and at least 30 lbs to loose. I am 27 at 160lbs thanks to my 3 little lovelies and can't wait to see the scale scream 125lbs!
ReplyDeleteWishing you luck! I'm trying to drop a few too! The holidays were not good to me.
ReplyDeleteSo impressed with your motivation & superior cleaning skills! I want to lose at least 10-15 pounds. Being accountable to someone about it is the best way to giterdone!
ReplyDeleteI had never had a problem w weight until I stopped smoking and my estrogen got lowered! I am 145 lbs and normally 125 so this feels very different to me. I have had two back surgeries in the past two years and still hurt a lot every day so limited on exercise. Before I could bend , do pretty much any exercise but now I pretty much can only walk, clean and simple things. I have two grandchildren and two daughters! My life is very good but this is really been tough on my self esteem. I am engaged to my 10 yr relationship with my boyfriend who is 15 yrs my Jr! He recently wanted to join the gym w one of his friends and I acually got jealous for once in my life LOLLOL. So looking forward to reading all of your progress and supporting one another. Thanks for posting this awesome site... Hugs to all!!! Deana! deanahoorn@yahoo.com
